Lake County Y - Healthy Kids Day
35300 Vine St Eastlake, OH 44095
Sunday, June 23, 2013
The Lake County Y will help families celebrate healthy living during its annual Healthy Kids Day festival to be held at Classic Park, the home of the Lake County Captains in Eastlake, on Sunday, June 23rd.
During Healthy Kids Day, families will take part in a giant scavenger hunt through Classic Park. Each stop on the map will have a health-focused activity, such as an obstacle race, or Human Ring Toss, while other stations will have educational activities that encourage lifestyles changes such as limiting TV time for extra reading.
“We want families to be excited about making healthy choices,” said Jacob Daling, Director of Social & Global Services at the Lake County Y. “There are simple changes children and parents can make to build a foundation for living healthy. From a daily walk together to a weekly family game night or just making healthier snack choices. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring private, governmental, and non-profit entities together to encourage the people of our great county to make healthy choices.”
Healthy Kids Day is free for families to attend and will feature numerous healthy tips and activities they can do every day to make better health choices. Bilingual staff will be available to encourage all of our community to participate.
Healthy Kids Day has partnered with these community organizations and sponsors to enhance each families experience: Classic Auto, Vitamin Shoppe, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Salvation Army, Forbes House, Willoughby Eastlake Library, Leadership Lake County, Painesville City Schools, and Crossroads.
Healthy Kids Day will be held Rain or Shine on June 23. IF RAIN, festivities will be held at the West End Y in Willoughby.
Families can pre-register at any Lake County Y branch or register at Classic Park the day of the event. For more information, contact Jacob Daling at 440-352-3303.
