Storm's Angels Spring Quarter Mania

Storm's Angels is hosting a Quarter Mania Fundraiser on April 19, 2015 at German's Villa 3330 Liberty Ave, Vermillion, OH.  Doors open at 12:30pm.  Event ends at 5:00pm.  We are a nonprofit companion animal rescue and we focus on rescuing and rehabilitating companion animals who are labeled unadoptable due to behavioral or medical reasons.

How the Auction works:

A Quarter Mania is a mix between an auction and a lottery.  As a quarter auction participant you will arrive to the location at 12:30pm with rolls of quarters. You want to arrive early so you have the opportunity to view all the items being auctioned off (there are about 100 auction items) and to get a seat.  These events can sell out.

When you arrive you will purchase a ticket ($5 per adult player and children are free).  You can also purchase additional paddles at $1 each.  The paddle money is retained for the charity organization. The person selling the paddles will put a corresponding numbered chip/ball into a bucket.  The more paddles you buy the higher chance of winning the items being auctioned.

When the auction begins, each item will be displayed to the crowd and auctioned off, one by one.  At this time, you will use your quarters and paddle(s) to bid.  Each item will have a retail value that determines the number of quarters required per paddle to bid.  For example, 1 quarter for an item with a $15–$24 value, 2 quarters for $25–$49 value, 3 quarters for $50-$74, and 4 quarters for $75-$100.

Once you deposit the required number of quarters per paddle to bid (quarters are dropped into bowls on the tables and collected) you can raise your paddle(s) in the air.  The announcer will begin calling numbers from the chips/balls in their bucket.  If the announcer calls a number that wasn't played (the person didn't bid and raise their paddle), that person with the number will yell out, "No bid."  The announcer will count down in numbers until there is a winner among those who bid and had their paddles raised in the air.

We will also have food available for purchase, Chinese raffles, a 50/50 raffle, and multiple vendors who have contributed to our event.

C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters

The Screwtape Letters, the provocative and wickedly funny theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, returns to Playhouse Square for two performances only.

The Screwtape Letters creates a topsy-turvy morally inverted universe set inan eerily stylish office in hell, where God is called the "Enemy" and the devil is referred to as "Our Father below."  The play follows His Abysmal Sublimity Screwtape, Satan's top psychiatrist (due to his profound understanding of human nature), and his slavish creature-demon Toadpipe, as they train an apprentice demon, Wormwood, on how to ruin the life and damn the soul of an unsuspecting human on earth. Screwtape is played by Brent Harris (Scar-The Lion King National Tour).
