Switchfoot Met With Angry Protesters on Tour

On a stop in Baton Rouge, LA., as part of their Fading West Tour, Switchfoot ("Love Alone is Worth The Fight") was the target of protest by a religious group outside of the venue to preach against any type of "Christian" rock & roll.  The protesters were voicing their objections with large signs and a bullhorn at the entrance to the concert hall.

Once the concert got underway, from inside the concert hall, lead singer Jon Foreman responded.  At a stopping point in the concert, Switchfoot lead singer Jon Foreman felt compelled to address the issue to the audience.

This is one of several incidences the band has encountered while on the current tour.  The response from the band has generally been to serve and demonstrate love to the protesters.  As Foreman addressed in his Twitter:

"So stoked the protesters are here again -treat 'em with love and respect ya'll! love is the only response."

The episode, including the band's response,  was chronicled on the band's website
