Globalization Sensation!

The Elms invites the community to experience its annual Globalization Sensation, featuring entertainment, hands on art projects, and food from countries around the world, on Sunday, May 3, from 12noon to 3:00pm.  For more information, go online to www.theelms.org.

The goal of this event is to draw community wide attention to global issues and concerns, highlight the global educational standards and activities the school offers, and to encourage financial support of the school.  This is the second year for this event.

Our Lady of the Elms will host a community wide event designed to celebrate global studies education and cultural diversity, Globalization Sensation!  Community organizations committed to global studies, global concerns, or other intercultural engagement opportunities will be present to help attendees experience a festival of learning and culture.

The theme for GS15 is World Peace. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a collaborative mural painting of the theme that will be donated to a local hospital or library, engage in a paper crane project, taste foods from cultures around the world, listen to presentations from international college students from places like Saudi Arabia, China, Africa, and Europe, and have the opportunity to experience live cultural dance and artistic works.  It is our hope that everyone in attendance will leave Globalization Sensation with a greater understanding of the richness of cultural diversity and be willing to engage in all efforts to facilitate world peace.
