Since he was 5 years old Phil has had an interest in radio. It turned into a passion when he entered High School. He starting making mock demos - still has them saved. While in High School, Phil had the chance to intern at a local radio station in the small town of Milan, Ohio. He graduated from Vermilion High School. Phil then came to Cleveland to attend The Ohio Center for Broadcasting; he is an alum and still goes back to his school to talk to current students. After graduating Phil found a job in secular radio; however he felt something was missing and he had a higher purpose in the radio industry. Last September it hit him and God gave a shift in direction when he found out about an open position at The Fish. Phil applied and he got the gig. Phil wears multiple hats at the radio station: he serves as the Events coordinator and as a board/op for our AM (sister station, AM 1420 The Answer) and most recently he added being a part of our weekend lineup (6:00pm to midnight on Saturdays, 3:00pm - 9:00pm on Sunday afternoons and overnights Monday - Saturday) to the list of things he does. Phil always says this is not work, "I think of what I do as a hobby because I love it that much. Being here at 955 the Fish, getting to serve Jesus and love on God's people doing radio for a higher purpose makes it that much better!"
When not on the air or on the streets doing Fish promotions, Phil spends his time as a part time barista at Starbucks and serving at his church. He is a member of The Chapel in Sandusky, Ohio - the church where he grew up, and found Jesus! Phil considers Jesus to be the most important and significant part of his life. "I love Jesus, really love HIM and his people and do my best to serve him in all that I do. He deserves everything because he humbled himself and gave up everything so that I may have life. Jesus has showed me the true way to live my life and can’t give him enough thanks and praise for everything that he has done and blessed me with!" He lives by this and his life verse, Colossians 3:23: Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as YOUR working for the Lord.
He currently lives in Parma and has two dog's: Oreo and Domino, and no, not named after Domino's Pizza. He also has two siblings: an older sister, Becky (26) and younger brother, Tim (19).
